Litter is a BIG issue in the UK, a widescale problem. However, it is a problem that can be stopped and we are all responsible and can make positive change. The message is simple..
..do not drop litter, take it home or put it in a bin
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals states on their website that they receive, on average, 10 calls a day about animals affected by litter.
Litter causes unnecessary harm to local wildlife. This needs to STOP!
The Bertie Bottle Campaign believe that everyone can make a positive difference. Bertie Bottle regularly litter pick in their local area and has set up a monthly community litter pick. They work with local businesses to ensure they are doing what they can to reduce the litter they are producing. Litter picking is great and solves immediate issues, however, a long term solution is needed.
The Bertie Bottle Campaign believe that education is the key. We regularly visit children's groups and attend local events to highlight the problem with litter.
